The Omni S8 is in my honest opinion the best 8" sub money can buy. I've had my S8 for 2 years now and still firmly believe this. I've used it in big rooms, small rooms and my basement all with beautifully smooth sound. The bass goes way down past what you can hear into the range of what you can actually feel.
I'm not going to go into stats on my set up but in short I have a Yamaha-RX-V671, 2 Polk RTi A7 fronts, 2 Polk RTi A3 rears and 2 Polk Tsi100 for centers. I tried the Polk PSW111 subwoofer and the bass was so disappointing I had to return it. When I heard that Mirage was made by Klipsch, I decided to give the S8 a try and am glad I did. It completely rounds out the system.
The bass output is absolutely gorgeous at any volume level. Movies and every kind of music I've played sound flawless. The bass is tight and crystal clear and you can really feel the depth. It is not for those who want the rapper style, loud slapping bass. I don't even think you could make it do that even if you wanted to. But if you are looking for superior bass response at a great price, you have to give the S8 a try. The only sub I can imagine sounding better is the Mirage S10.
